Short description: 

The goal of the program is to integrate and balance the professional standards of social work with the challenges of the social economy. The purpose of the program is to train professionals who, equipped with socio-political and managerial skills, are able to manage, operate, and develop institutions and services within the social economy. Graduates, knowledgeable of international professional and ethical principles of social assistance, will be prepared to carry out tasks in international cooperation. With appropriate organizational and development skills, they will perform tasks in the field of social services that strengthen the local economy and promote the economic and social integration of disadvantaged social groups. An additional goal is to prepare graduates to conduct and evaluate scientific-empirical research, enabling them to develop new models and concepts, not only in Hungary but also in international contexts.

 

The program is unique because it was created and exists through the cooperation of seven European partner institutions:

Competences:

Competences Related to Social Management:
Graduates understand the operational systems of business administration and can adopt and apply them to social enterprises. They can analyze social services in terms of quality, impact, and efficiency; plan, organize, and implement specific tasks in social enterprises, such as evaluation and personnel management; apply marketing approaches to social enterprises; and quickly collect and link information from different fields, integrating them into an interdisciplinary explanation of connections and structures.

Competences Related to International Cooperation:
Graduates can recognize and analyze changes and their national and international impacts on the social economy based on social, political, and economic considerations. They are capable of developing organizational changes in both national and international contexts. They can identify and analyze global changes and challenges, especially regarding institutions in the social sector, and develop and organize international strategic cooperation, implement international projects, and create cross-border organizational forms. Graduates possess high-quality communication skills in at least one foreign language and can effectively use information and communication tools relevant to international cooperation.

Management Competences:
Graduates understand management concepts and tasks and can develop strategies to perform and manage development programs and action plans. They can identify, understand, and manage necessary organizational changes, applying the principles of learning organizations. They are familiar with and can apply problem-solving methods and procedures at the organizational level, including personnel management, development, and planning. They know and apply relevant laws and regulations, including EU directives.

 

Organizational Competences:
Graduates can structure, introduce, and evaluate processes. They can control professional and financial processes in organizations through quality management and controlling. They possess sound knowledge of forms, development, and analysis of organizations and can effectively manage change processes. They can optimize work processes to enhance efficiency while considering social aspects and the unique characteristics of the social economy.

 

Project-Oriented Competences:
Graduates can establish international networks, initiate, and implement international programs to find common solutions to specific social problems in the European area. They can execute international programs related to organizational development using internationally recognized project management methods.

 

Leadership Competences:
Graduates understand the strategic and operational elements of managing institutions and can organize related actions, programs, and developments. With knowledge of law and business economics, they can act responsibly and mediate between fund distributors and clients of social work, as well as between employees and society. They possess basic knowledge of business law and contractual relationships, which they can apply in managerial contexts. They understand cost planning and cost-effective operations in funding and can apply this knowledge in their managerial work. They can manage discussions, meetings, debates, brainstorming sessions, and other team planning processes. Additionally, they can analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and improvements.

 

Researcher Competences:
Graduates can organize and conduct independent research programs using quantitative and qualitative methods. They can initiate, manage, and implement international comparative research programs, present lectures and presentations in their native language and at least one foreign language, attend national and international conferences, and prepare publications and studies.

 

Methodological Competences, Including Communication Skills Related to Foreign Languages:
Graduates can evaluate and analyze situations, developing adequate responses and solutions. They can perform moderation tasks and apply problem-solving techniques. They can formulate professional resolutions and problem-solving strategies in both written and oral forms, explain them, and present them effectively. They can use professional terminology and situational communication in at least one foreign language and integrate information from various disciplines, analyzing it in an interdisciplinary manner for professional adaptation.

 

Social Competences:
Graduates can cooperate with colleagues and employees, considering the opinions of others and the external environment. They act reliably and loyally, contributing to the formation of organizational culture. They are equipped for intercultural communication and interdisciplinary collaboration, fostering positive interaction and communication processes.

 

Personal Competences:
Graduates exhibit analytical, diagnostic, and conceptual thinking. They think and act in a process-oriented manner and can engage in professional and ethically sound arguments. They demonstrate scientific reflection and critical thinking, engaging in self-reflection and self-management. They recognize, develop, and strengthen their own and their colleagues’ professional and personal potentials and possess an entrepreneurial mindset applicable within the social sphere.
